Lower Income Tax for Small Corporations Under BIR RR No. 7-2025 – 20% Rate Explained

Akala Mo 25% Lagi ang Corporate Tax?

Maraming small business owners ang tuloy-tuloy pa rin sa 25% income tax rate—kahit qualified na pala sila sa 20%.
Kung di mo alam ang bagong rule ng BIR, baka taon-taon ka nang nag-o-overpay.
Sayang ang pwedeng ipon o dagdag kapital.
Hindi effort ang kulang. Minsan, kulang lang talaga sa info.

Ano’ng Bago sa RR No. 7-2025?

Under the CREATE MORE Law, may bagong tax rate para sa qualified corporations at RBEs (Registered Business Enterprises).

Para sa Domestic Corporations:

• 20% income tax kung:
 – Net taxable income ay ₱5M pababa
 – Total assets ay ₱100M pababa (hindi kasama ang lupa)
• Applicable since July 1, 2020

Para sa RBEs under Enhanced Deductions Regime (EDR):

• 20% income tax on registered project income
• Effective November 28, 2024
• Non-registered income? Back to regular 25%

Bonus Tip:

May VAT-exempt sales ka?
Pwede mong i-deduct ang input VAT sa gross income gamit ang Section 34(C)(8) ng Tax Code.

Halimbawa: Si Doc Marco

May clinic si Doc Marco at naka-incorporate ang negosyo niya.
Total net taxable income: ₱3.8M
Assets: ₱5M (excluding land)
Pero dahil hindi updated ang accountant niya, 25% pa rin ang binayaran nilang tax.

Sayang ang ₱190,000 na pwedeng matipid!

Sagutin mo ’to:

[ ] Corporation ang structure ng business ko
[ ] Kita ko ay ₱5M pababa (net taxable income)
[ ] Total assets ko ay ₱100M pababa (excluding land)
[ ] RBE ako under EDR
[ ] Di ko pa na-check kung qualified ako sa 20% rate
